What are escape rooms?
Escape rooms are interactive adventure games where players work together to solve puzzles, decipher clues, and complete challenges within a themed room. You need to solve puzzles and follow clues to allow yourselves to complete the objective within one hour. This objective varies from game to game, the ultimate goal is to "escape" or achieve a specific objective within a set time limit.
How long does an escape room game typically last?
Our escape room games usually have a time limit which typically ranges from 60 to 90 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to receive instructions.
What is the maximum capacity for your escape rooms?
Each game has a set maximum capacity plan this ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all players while maintaining the integrity of the game's challenges.

What games do you have available?
Currently, we have Chambers of Champions, Cabin in the Woods and the Ghost of Old Maid Milly available to book.
Crypt of the Cursed is opening soon – keep an eye on our booking site for details.
We also have 6 Enigma Express replica vintage train carriages available to book for sit-down games. This is a truly unique experience
What are the games about?
Cabin in the Woods - an investigator of the supernatural, has gone missing. Tracking his last known whereabouts, you and your team find yourselves locked in a Cabin in the Woods; but all is not as it seems.
Ghost of Old Maid Milly - you are ghost hunters searching an old woman's house, looking to put her spirit to rest
Chambers of Champions - you are contenders in a medieval contest where the winners become the next rulers of the kingdom
Crypt of the Cursed - You have been invited to an old Victorian crypt owned by your family but soon find yourselves being locked inside
Are any of the games scary?
Yes, the ghost of Old Maid Milly has a scary atmosphere with jump scares throughout the game. If that seems too much, there is the option to play with minimal jump scares.
Crypt of the Cursed offers a scary atmosphere without any actual jump scares.
Cabin in the Woods and Chambers of Champions are not scary games.
Is there an age limit for your escape rooms?
While our escape rooms are designed to be family-friendly, we recommend a minimum age of 12+ to fully participate in the puzzles and challenges. Children under this age will require adults to supervise and may find some of the tasks too challenging. Although of course children are welcome to attend as part of a family booking!

Are your escape rooms suitable for kids' birthday parties?
Absolutely! Our escape rooms are a fantastic choice for kids' birthday parties. We offer age-appropriate puzzles and themes to ensure an enjoyable experience for children. Please contact our Events team on events@donningtonmanor.com for more information on hosting a bespoke birthday celebration.
Can groups of under-18s play by themselves?
Yes, groups of 13-17-year-olds can play without an adult in the room as long as the following criteria are met:
1. We have been notified by email AT LEAST 48hrs prior of arrival, so that we can arrange sufficient staff coverage
2. A responsible adult remains on site for the duration of the game
Please note that any bookings that do not follow the guidelines above will be cancelled and the group will not be able to play. No refund will be given in this circumstance.

Can I bring a larger group for team-building or special events?
Certainly! We welcome larger groups for team-building events, corporate outings, and special occasions. Please contact our Events team on events@donningtonmanor.com so we can customise your experience and accommodate your group's needs.
Can we park at the venue?
Yes, we have ample free parking available! However please ensure you register your vehicle with us on arrival to avoid a fine. Registration consoles are available at the main Reception and in our bar.
Is there anywhere to eat and drink?
Absolutely – our Spectrum bar lounge and Chartwell restaurant are at your full disposal for drinks, a light snack or delicious homemade food! During busy periods it is advisable to book tables in advance – please visit our website for menus and booking.
Is your venue wheelchair accessible?
Access to the hotel and our main areas, including our bar and restaurant are step-free. However the escape rooms are located down steps and so are not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Can we take pictures/videos?
No, cameras and video recorders are not permitted as sneak peeks would potentially reveal the games to others and spoil the surprise! We would ask that you do not reveal any of the clues, puzzles or solutions to anyone.
